How Stability Is Calculated

BuyBox stability dashboard

Buy Box stability dashboard

Buy Box Stability shows how consistently the Buy Box is held by the same seller during a selected period, such as the last 30 days. It is calculated as the largest share of time one seller owned the Buy Box. Lower stability usually means stronger competition because multiple sellers rotate in the Buy Box more often. This metric is closely related to Buy Box Ownership and Buy Box Tracker, and users can review the basic Buy Box concept in the Buy Box glossary entry.

Reading the Signal

  • High stability: A single seller is dominant — usually the brand or an aligned reseller.
  • Low stability: Multiple sellers rotate in the Buy Box, indicating repricers or aggressive competition.
  • Sudden drop: A new seller may have joined the listing or started a price war.
