Verdict: ZonGuru is no longer the research suite most comparisons describe. It now sells Helix, an AI listing-engineering platform that rewrites and maintains your listings for AI-era discovery, priced from $149/mo and limited to the US and UK. SellerSonar is dedicated monitoring for any ASIN, from $19.98/mo, with no Seller Central connection required.
Best for: brands that want their listings actively rewritten for AI search and have the budget for it. Look elsewhere if: you mainly need to know the moment something changes on a listing you already own or compete against.
Anyone comparing these two from an older article is comparing against a product that no longer exists. ZonGuru retired the research-suite positioning: its site, its pricing page and its plan names are now built entirely around Helix, described by the company as engineering your listings “against Amazon’s AI and A9 engines”. The tools older reviews cite, Niche Finder, Keywords on Fire, Listing Optimizer and the Love-Hate review analysis, are no longer marketed anywhere on zonguru.com.

That changes the comparison. This is now a question of whether you are buying listing improvement or listing surveillance, and the two are priced roughly an order of magnitude apart.

Where ZonGuru Helix wins
Helix does something SellerSonar does not attempt, and it is worth being clear about that rather than pretending the overlap is total.
It rewrites listings, not just reports on them
Helix scores a listing against Amazon’s AI and A9 engines, identifies what is costing visibility, and rebuilds the copy. Each rebuild counts as a “transformation”, and plans are sized by how many you get per month. A monitoring tool tells you a title changed; Helix is trying to decide what the title should say. If the job on your desk is “our listings are underperforming in AI search”, that is a different purchase from an alert feed.
An AI Readiness Score and an MCP library
ZonGuru publishes an AI Readiness Score for listings and an MCP library for connecting Helix to Claude and other AI tools. SellerSonar also exposes MCP, so this is parity rather than an advantage, but it does show both vendors building for the same shift in how buyers discover products.
Monitoring is bundled on every plan
Every Helix tier includes monitoring and alerts on every managed listing. If your catalogue is small enough to sit inside a Helix plan and you were going to buy the rewriting anyway, you are not paying twice for basic change detection.
Agency and managed-service routes
ZonGuru sells For Brands, For Agencies and a Managed Service where its team runs the work for you. Agencies managing many client accounts from one place are an explicit target, and there is a done-for-you option if you would rather not operate the tool at all.
Current ZonGuru Helix pricing
Helix is priced by two numbers: how many listings it keeps under watch (managed listings) and how many it rebuilds each month (transformations). Annual billing saves 17%.

- Helix Starter: $149/mo billed monthly, or $124/mo ($1,490/yr) annually. Up to 15 managed listings, 5 transformations a month.
- Helix Growth: $299/mo billed monthly, or $249/mo ($2,990/yr) annually. Up to 50 managed listings, 10 transformations a month.
- Helix Pro: $699/mo billed monthly, or $583/mo ($6,990/yr) annually. Up to 100 managed listings, 25 transformations a month.
- Helix Enterprise: custom, with volume pricing on request and priority support.
Every tier includes monitoring and alerts on managed listings, an SP-API Seller Central connection and MCP access. Existing ZonGuru subscribers are pointed to a separate Founding Member offer, so the plans above are what a new customer sees. Verified September 29, 2026.
Independent review signals
We are not quoting G2, Capterra or Trustpilot scores for ZonGuru. Those profiles are not independently checkable from here, and the ones older articles cite were built on the retired research suite rather than on Helix, which is a materially different product. Judge Helix on a demo and on the plan limits above.
Where ZonGuru Helix stops
Four limits matter if monitoring is the job you are actually trying to do.
- US and UK only. ZonGuru’s own marketplaces page is titled “US and UK Amazon Supported Today”. If you sell in the EU, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia or India, Helix does not cover those listings.
- It needs Seller Central. Helix requires an SP-API connection, so it works on listings you own. It cannot watch a competitor’s ASIN, and an agency needs account access from every client.
- It is priced by listings, not ASINs. Fifteen managed listings on Starter is a small catalogue. A seller with 150 ASINs to protect is looking at Helix Pro or Enterprise, where the comparison with a $19.98 monitoring plan stops being close.
- The entry price is high. $149/mo monthly is roughly seven times SellerSonar’s entry plan. ZonGuru does sell one-off credits from $49 for a single rebuild, but its pricing page states that scoring and monitoring come only with a plan, so credits are not a cheaper route to the monitoring itself.
None of that makes Helix a weak product. It makes it a different one, aimed at a brand that wants its copy rebuilt rather than its catalogue watched.
Where SellerSonar wins
SellerSonar is built around continuous monitoring. Sellers add ASINs and keywords, choose the alert types they care about and receive notifications when the platform detects a change.
Seller and pricing alerts
SellerSonar detects when a seller appears on or drops off a tracked ASIN and when a seller changes price. These alerts help brands investigate unfamiliar offers, shifting competition and potential unauthorized sellers. The Pro plan includes seller appeared, seller removed and seller price-change alerts, but excludes Featured Offer (Buy Box) Lost and Won alerts; Premium, Business and Enterprise include the full alert set.

Listing content monitoring
SellerSonar tracks changes to the listing title, images, bullet points and description, plus retail issues and listing availability. Monitoring does not automatically revert an unwanted edit; its job is to shrink the delay between an event and the seller learning about it.
Keyword-rank monitoring, including Sponsored
SellerSonar tracks both Organic and Sponsored positions for selected keywords. Users can review position history, compare competitors and receive alerts on meaningful rank movements. ZonGuru tracks daily organic rank; Sponsored positions are not part of its rank set.

No Seller Central connection required
SellerSonar can monitor supported ASINs without a Seller Central connection. That makes it usable for sellers who prefer not to share account access, for agencies and vendors that manage products for many clients and for anyone tracking competitor ASINs they do not own.
SellerSonar pricing and plan limits
SellerSonar’s starting price should always be read together with the monitoring frequency and alert coverage of the plan. From the current plan comparison:
| Plan | Annual price | Monthly price | ASINs | Keywords | Update frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | $19.98/mo | $23.98/mo | 150 | 500 | Every four hours |
| Premium | $39.98/mo | $47.98/mo | 300 | 2,000 | Every two hours |
| Business | $74.98/mo | $89.98/mo | 500 | 3,000 | Every hour |
Pro includes basic Featured Offer (Buy Box) and pricing coverage but does not include Buy Box Lost and Won alerts. Premium and Business include the full alert set; Business adds AI competitor insights, Share of Voice and Share of Shelf. Enterprise is custom with unlimited ASINs and keywords.
Free trials compared
| Product | Free option | Important details |
|---|---|---|
| SellerSonar | 14-day free trial | The $0 trial covers 5 ASINs and 10 keywords with no credit card. A $5 Full Business 14-day option unlocks 500 ASINs and 3,000 keywords. Choose at registration. |
| ZonGuru Helix | Not published | ZonGuru’s pricing page lists no free trial or free tier. Entry is a paid plan from $149/mo, or a conversation for the Enterprise and Managed Service routes. |

Which one should you choose?
Choose ZonGuru Helix if:
- You sell in the US or UK only, and you are ready to connect Seller Central.
- Your problem is that listings are underperforming in AI and A9 discovery, and you want them rebuilt rather than reported on.
- Your catalogue fits inside 15 to 100 managed listings, and $124 to $699 a month is proportionate to what those listings earn.
- You would rather hand the work to an agency or to ZonGuru’s managed service.
Choose SellerSonar if:
- You need to know the moment a seller appears, the Featured Offer (Buy Box) moves, listing content is edited, a listing is suppressed, reviews shift or a keyword drops.
- You sell outside the US and UK, or you want cover in marketplaces you have not entered yet.
- You want to watch ASINs you do not own, whether competitors or client catalogues, without requesting Seller Central access.
- You have more ASINs than a Helix plan counts listings, and you need the per-ASIN economics to work.
Use both if:
A US or UK brand can reasonably run Helix to engineer the listings and SellerSonar to watch them, including the competitor ASINs Helix cannot see. They are not substitutes: one changes the listing, the other tells you when someone else does.
The bottom line
ZonGuru moved upmarket and changed jobs. Helix is a listing-engineering platform for US and UK brand owners with budget, sold by managed listings and monthly rebuilds. SellerSonar is monitoring, priced per ASIN, working across more marketplaces and on listings you do not own. If you came here from an article comparing research tools, that comparison is out of date on ZonGuru’s side, and the honest answer is that the two products now barely compete. Pick by whether you need your listings rewritten or watched.
