Verdict: SmartScout pricing in 2026 starts at $29/mo for Basic billed yearly ($49 month to month), $99 for Essentials ($119) and $239 for Business ($299), with Enterprise priced on request. The critical caveat: every plan now includes one user, and the seller database and Seller Map sit on Business.

Best for: wholesale sellers, agencies and brand teams who research brands and sellers every week. Look elsewhere if: you mainly need alerts when the Buy Box, sellers or content change on your own ASINs.

This is a SmartScout pricing guide for Amazon sellers, wholesalers and agencies deciding which plan pays for itself, or whether to buy one at all. We read every price and limit on SmartScout’s own pricing page, plan comparison table, terms of use and feature pages, and captured the screenshots below from those public pages on November 4, 2026.

Disclosure: SellerSonar publishes this guide and competes with SmartScout in Amazon Buy Box and listing tracking, so we say where SmartScout is the better choice and link every fact to SmartScout’s own pages.

SmartScout pricing in 2026: plans at a glance

SmartScout sells three self-serve plans and a custom Enterprise tier. These are the prices on the SmartScout pricing page as of November 4, 2026, in US dollars.

Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly (per month) Per year on yearly billing Highest data level
Basic $49 $29 $348 Product
Essentials $119 $99 $1,188 Brand and keyword
Business $299 $239 $2,868 Seller and subcategory
Enterprise Custom Custom – Historical data, Ad Spy, Share of Voice

The yearly totals are our math (the per-month price times 12). Yearly billing is the default tab on the page, so the first price most visitors see is the yearly one.

SmartScout’s pricing cards on November 4, 2026, with the Yearly tab selected.

A few details change the real price:

  • Yearly billing saves the most on Basic. Basic drops from $49 to $29 a month, about 41% off. Essentials saves $20 a month (17%) and Business $60 (20%), per the two tabs of SmartScout’s pricing page.
  • One user per plan. SmartScout’s plan comparison lists 1 user on Basic, Essentials and Business, with “$49” per additional user. The table does not say whether that $49 is monthly, so ask sales before you add seats.
  • Add-ons cost extra. Search Terms Ad Spy, Seller Exports and the AI Analyst and Chat tools are marked “an add-on” on Business, and the API and Data Lake are add-ons even on Enterprise, according to the same table.

Switch the toggle to Monthly and the same four cards show the higher month-to-month prices.

Every paid card carries the same line: “Full access, 7-day Money-Back Guarantee.”

What changed in 2026: higher prices, fewer seats

If you priced SmartScout in the first half of 2026, the numbers you remember are out of date. The archived copy of SmartScout’s pricing page from June 8, 2026 shows Basic at $25, Essentials at $75 and Business at $158 a month on yearly billing, and $29, $97 and $187 month to month. The February 2026 copy shows the same prices.

Plan Yearly, June 8, 2026 Yearly, Nov 4, 2026 Monthly, June 8, 2026 Monthly, Nov 4, 2026
Basic $25 $29 $29 $49
Essentials $75 $99 $97 $119
Business $158 $239 $187 $299

Three other changes matter as much as the prices, comparing the June 8 archive with the live page:

  • Seats went down. In June, Basic included 2 users and Essentials and Business included 3. Today all three include 1, with “$49” per extra user. A three-person team on Business that paid $187 a month in June now pays $299 plus two extra seats.
  • Seller research moved up a tier. The June Essentials card listed the Sellers Database, Seller Map and Buy Box Win Map. Today’s plan table puts the Sellers Database and Seller Map on Business only, and the Brands Database, which sat on Basic in June, now starts at Essentials.
  • New tools arrived. TikTok Shop data, review automation and an MCP connector (a “Snapshot MCP” with 1,000 monthly credits on Business, full access on Enterprise) are marked New on the current page, and the AI Visibility Monitor rows were not in the June table.

One more thing to watch: as of November 4, 2026, the FAQ on SmartScout’s wholesale page still quotes the old $25, $75 and $158 yearly prices. The pricing page is the one that matches checkout, so trust it over older copy elsewhere on the site.

💡 Expert Tip: SmartScout’s pricing page also mentions “Legacy plans”. If you subscribed before the price change, check what your current plan includes before you switch tiers, because moving plans may put you on the new prices and the new one-seat limit.

SmartScout plan limits: what each tier unlocks

The cards only list headline features. The plan comparison table under them is where the limits sit. These are the rows that decide which plan you need, as SmartScout lists them.

The seller research block is the clearest dividing line. In SmartScout’s table, every seller row starts at Business, and Seller History and the Seller Growth Filter are Enterprise only.

For wholesale and agency buyers, that makes Business the real entry point. According to SmartScout’s pricing page, Business costs $239 a month on yearly billing and opens seller data on “all 2,000,000+ sellers, including buy box history.”

The Seller Tools block shows the usage caps. Buy Box Map is counted in uses, from 3 on Basic to 500 on Enterprise; the table does not state a reset period.

Three uses on Basic is enough to try the feature, not to run it across a catalog.

Is there a SmartScout free trial or free plan?

No. SmartScout’s pricing page has no free plan and no card-free trial of the paid plans. Each “Try” button opens sign-up for a specific paid plan, and the offer is a refund instead of a trial: “Full access, 7-day Money-Back Guarantee.”

The fine print is in section 9.3 of SmartScout’s terms of use. The guarantee “applies exclusively to new customers and is limited to one-time use per customer within the first seven days of account creation.” Once the refund is issued, you lose access. Where SmartScout says “Try SmartScout Free for 7 Days” on its wholesale page, the line under it explains the mechanism: “Full refund within 7 days.”

The closest thing to a free tier is the Chrome extension. Its Chrome Web Store listing offers “100 free, full-feature uses a month” with “No contract or credit card information needed,” and lists 10,000 users and version 2.0.1, updated October 8, 2026.

One catch: the same listing says the extension “relies on a connection via Amazon’s SP-API,” so plan to connect a seller account to use it fully. You can also book a demo, which SmartScout’s wholesale page says needs no credit card.

What SmartScout does (in short)

SmartScout is Amazon market research built from the brand and seller level down. Instead of starting from one product, you filter brands, sellers and subcategories by revenue, Amazon’s in-stock rate, FBA seller count and catalog size, then drill into the products. Its core pieces:

  • Brands, Products, Sellers and Subcategories databases with revenue estimates and 30+ filters each.
  • Seller Map, which plots sellers by location. A free Seller Map preview runs without an account.
  • Traffic Graph, which maps Amazon’s “frequently bought together” links to show where a product’s traffic comes from.
  • Buy Box Map, which checks who wins the Buy Box for an ASIN in each US state, with shipping times.
  • AI Visibility Monitor, which runs your prompts against ChatGPT several times a day and reports how often your product is mentioned.

Here is the public Seller Map preview on Amazon US, with seller counts clustered by region.

On its Buy Box Map page, SmartScout pitches the tool as a way to “find out if you’re winning the buy box in different states” and to see shipping speeds across the United States. The demo on that page shows how it works: you search one ASIN, and the map colors each state by the seller holding the Buy Box.

That makes Buy Box Map a lookup you run on demand, counted against your plan’s uses. It is a geographic check of one listing, not a feed that tells you when the Buy Box changes hands.

What SmartScout does well

  • Brand-first sourcing for wholesale. Filters for Amazon in-stock rate, average FBA sellers and a dominant seller holding 50%+ of revenue, per SmartScout’s wholesale page, cut a brand list to wholesale-friendly targets fast. Few tools start from the brand.
  • Seller and brand discovery for agencies. The Sellers Database, Seller Map and Brand Reports on Business are built for finding and qualifying prospects by revenue and location before a sales call.
  • Supplier list scanning. The UPC Scanner matches a price list to Amazon listings in bulk, with 50,000 ASINs on Essentials per the plan table.
  • Market-level history. Historical Buy Box and pricing data via Scope are on every plan, and brand market share history is on Enterprise.

Where SmartScout falls short

  • Price and seats. According to SmartScout’s pricing page, the useful seller data starts at $239 a month on yearly billing, for a single user, after the 2026 increase.
  • Alerts are an Enterprise add-on. The only alert feature on the pricing page is “Custom Dashboards + Alerts,” marked New and listed on the custom-priced Enterprise card.
  • Buy Box Map is capped and US-focused. It runs per use (3 to 500 depending on plan) and its page describes shipping speeds “across the United States.”
  • Fewer marketplaces. The public Seller Map preview offers 12 Amazon marketplaces to choose from.
SmartScout Seller Map marketplace picker: US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, India, Australia, UAE

That list covers the main Western markets, Japan and India, but not Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

Is SmartScout worth it?

It depends on whether you are researching a market or protecting listings you already sell. Here is how the plans line up by seller type, using the prices on SmartScout’s pricing page.

Seller type Plan that fits Cost on yearly billing Worth it?
Wholesale or OA reseller sourcing brands Essentials (brands, UPC Scanner 50,000 ASINs) $99/mo Yes, if you source every week
Agency prospecting sellers and brands Business (sellers, Seller Map, Brand Reports, exports) $239/mo plus extra seats Yes, one signed client covers it
Private label seller doing product research Essentials $99/mo Maybe; compare with keyword-led suites
New seller testing ideas Chrome extension free tier or Basic $0 to $29/mo Start with the free 100 uses
Brand owner watching own ASINs for hijackers and Buy Box loss Enterprise for alerts Custom Usually no; a monitoring tool is cheaper

🎯 Pro Insight: Research tools and monitoring tools answer different questions. SmartScout answers “which brands and sellers should I go after?” A monitoring tool answers “what changed on my listing since this morning?” Most sellers who overpay bought one to do the other’s job.

Pros & cons

Pros: brand-first wholesale filters few tools match; seller database and Seller Map for agency prospecting; bulk UPC Scanner; Historical Buy Box on every plan; TikTok Shop data and an AI Visibility Monitor on the same plans; a 7-day money-back guarantee for new customers.

Cons: prices rose in 2026; one user per plan; seller data starts at $239 a month, per SmartScout’s pricing page; no free plan or card-free trial; alerts only on custom Enterprise; Buy Box Map counted in uses and US-focused; 12 marketplaces in the Seller Map picker; the Chrome extension relies on an SP-API connection.

When a Buy Box monitoring tool makes more sense

If your question is “who sells this brand and how big are they,” SmartScout is the better tool. If your question is “did someone just join my listing or take my Buy Box,” you want a tool that checks your ASINs on a schedule and alerts you, not a map you run on demand.

That is what SellerSonar does. It watches the ASINs you add, yours or a competitor’s, on 23 Amazon marketplaces, without a Seller Central connection. Its Buy Box tracker records who held the Buy Box and for what share of the time, as in this Stanley tumbler listing on amazon.de.

SellerSonar Buy Box ownership for a Stanley Quencher on amazon.de, October 20 to 29, 2026.

When something changes, SellerSonar sends an alert from the next check: Seller appeared, Seller removed, price changes and Buy Box won or lost, plus content changes and suppressions. Here a new merchant-fulfilled seller appeared on a Sterilite cabinet listing.

SellerSonar Seller appeared alerts on a Sterilite 4 shelf cabinet on amazon.com: Suparnova FBM at $212.94, October 27, 2026
SellerSonar Seller appeared alerts on a Sterilite cabinet listing, October 27, 2026.

On price, SellerSonar’s plans start at $19.98 a month billed yearly for Pro: 150 ASINs and 500 keywords, checked every four hours. Premium is $39.98 for 300 ASINs and checks every two hours, and adds Buy Box Won and Lost alerts; Business is $74.98 for 500 ASINs and hourly checks. All plans cover 23 marketplaces.

SellerSonar does not do product research, brand or seller discovery, sourcing or repricing, so it does not replace SmartScout’s databases. Plenty of wholesale sellers would run both: SmartScout to find brands, SellerSonar competitor tracking to watch the listings once they carry them.

📌 From Our Experience: Wholesale accounts lose margin quietly when a new reseller joins and undercuts by a few cents. Seeing that on the day it happens matters more than knowing the brand’s yearly revenue, so pick your tools by the problem that costs you money this week.

Final Expert Recommendations:
Buy SmartScout for research, not for monitoring. Essentials at $99 a month billed yearly is fair for a reseller who sources brands every week, and Business at $239 earns its price for agencies that prospect sellers. If what you need is to know when a hijacker, a lost Buy Box or a listing edit hits your products, SellerSonar’s listing monitoring watches any ASIN without a Seller Central connection.
