Verdict: In Jungle Scout vs Helium 10, Jungle Scout is the cheaper way into Amazon product research, from $29 a month billed yearly, while Helium 10 starts at $99 and goes deeper on keyword research and, on Diamond, PPC automation, per each vendor’s pricing page. The critical caveat: neither is built to watch the listings you already sell, because Jungle Scout retired its Alerts feature and Helium 10 Platinum monitors 5 products.
Best for: Jungle Scout for first-time sellers validating a product on a budget; Helium 10 for brands that run PPC and want one suite. Look elsewhere if: what you mainly need is hijacker, Buy Box and listing-change alerts on products you already sell.
This comparison is for Amazon sellers choosing between the two best-known research suites. We read every price and limit on Jungle Scout’s and Helium 10’s own pricing pages and help centers on November 4, 2026, and the screenshots below come from those pages and from a free Helium 10 account.

Who each tool is for
Jungle Scout sells two products. Catalyst is the self-serve research kit for “Sellers $0-$1M in Annual Revenue”, and Cobalt is its enterprise platform for businesses above $1M, sold through a demo and, in Jungle Scout’s words, “a qualification process”.
Helium 10 sells one suite in three tiers pitched by yearly sales: Platinum for $0 to $100K, Diamond for $100K to $10M and Enterprise beyond that, per the Helium 10 pricing page. It covers Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop from one login.
In practice, Jungle Scout suits a seller who wants clean product validation at a low monthly cost. Helium 10 suits a brand that wants research, listings, ads and operations in one place and will pay for it.
Pricing compared, plan by plan
Both vendors bill in US dollars and discount yearly billing. According to the Jungle Scout Catalyst plans page and Helium 10’s pricing page, this is what each tier costs.
| Tier | Jungle Scout yearly (per year) | Jungle Scout monthly | Helium 10 yearly (per year) | Helium 10 monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | Starter $29 ($348) | $49 | Platinum $99 ($1,188) | $129 |
| Middle | Growth Accelerator $49 ($588) | $79 | Diamond $279 ($3,348) | $359 |
| Top self-serve | Brand Owner + CI $129 ($1,548) | $149 | – | – |
| Enterprise | Cobalt, custom | – | From $1,499, billed annually | – |
Jungle Scout’s plan cards show the yearly rates and the saving per plan.

According to both pricing pages, the top self-serve plans are $129 and $279 a month on yearly billing, so Helium 10 Diamond costs a little more than twice Jungle Scout Brand Owner.

What changed in 2026
Neither vendor raised its headline prices in 2026, but both trimmed what a plan includes. Archived copies of Helium 10’s pricing page show Platinum Alerts dropping from 20 products to 5 and Cerebro gaining a 100-search monthly cap between April and May 2026. Helium 10’s old Starter plan was already gone by February 2026.
On Jungle Scout’s side, archived copies of its Catalyst plans page from February 12 and March 13, 2026 list 10 included seats on Brand Owner. According to the live page, Brand Owner now includes 3, at the same $129 yearly rate.
💡 Expert Tip: Jungle Scout’s yearly discount is far larger than Helium 10’s on the entry plan: $29 vs $49 is about 41% off, while $99 vs $129 is about 23%, according to both pricing pages. Pay monthly for the first month, then switch to yearly once you know you will keep using the tool.
Keyword research: Cerebro vs Keyword Scout
Helium 10’s keyword research is Cerebro, a reverse-ASIN lookup, with Magnet’s seed-phrase search now built into it. On Platinum, the pricing page caps it at “100 searches monthly”, and the free plan only gets a demo.

Jungle Scout’s equivalent is Keyword Scout, which runs keyword, reverse-ASIN and multi-ASIN searches of up to 10 ASINs. According to Jungle Scout’s Keyword Scout guide, Starter gets 50 searches a month, Growth Accelerator 250 and Brand Owner unlimited.
Both vendors claim better data. Jungle Scout’s own 2024 comparison reports 84.1% sales-estimate accuracy against 74% for Helium 10, while Helium 10’s comparison page points to research built on Amazon Brand Analytics data. Both are vendor tests, not independent ones.
🎯 Pro Insight: If you are a brand-registered seller, run one of your own ASINs through either tool and compare the search volumes with your Search Query Performance report in Seller Central. Amazon’s own numbers settle the accuracy question for your category better than either vendor’s study.
Product research: Black Box vs Product Database
Helium 10 finds products with Black Box and checks a search page with Xray in its Chrome extension. The free plan includes 5 lifetime Black Box searches, per Helium 10’s plan guide.
Jungle Scout splits the same job across Product Database, Opportunity Finder, Product Tracker and a Sales Estimator. According to its plan table, Starter caps the first two at 100 searches a month, and Growth Accelerator removes the cap.

One change to know about: Jungle Scout now shows sales estimates only at the parent ASIN level, so you no longer get a separate figure for a single size or color.
Both suites also run as Chrome extensions on Amazon pages. Helium 10’s Chrome Web Store listing shows 1,000,000 users and a 4.1 rating from 771 ratings, and Jungle Scout’s listing shows 300,000 users and 3.1 from 368 ratings.
Keyword rank tracking
This is where Platinum surprises people. According to Helium 10’s feature table, “track keyword rankings over time” is not included on Platinum, and the Keyword Tracker is an add-on starting at $19 a month.

Helium 10’s plan guide still lists 500 tracked keywords for Platinum, so confirm at checkout. On Diamond, the tracker checks ranks once a day, or hourly with Boost, per Helium 10’s help center.
Jungle Scout’s Rank Tracker is missing from Starter and covers 500 keywords on Growth Accelerator and 5,000 on Brand Owner, according to its plan table. Its rank guide describes organic and sponsored rank with a heatmap view.

For a seller tracking a few hundred keywords, Jungle Scout Growth Accelerator includes what Helium 10 sells as an add-on, at roughly half the price of Platinum.
PPC and advertising
Helium 10 wins this one clearly. Diamond includes Helium 10 Ads, powered by Pacvue, with AI bidding, rules and dayparting, and Helium 10 charges a 2% fee on managed ad spend. Platinum has no Helium 10 Ads.
Jungle Scout Catalyst gives you advertising analytics and negative keyword harvesting from Growth Accelerator up. The product comparison on the Jungle Scout pricing page marks PPC management, bid optimization, dayparting and rules automation as Cobalt-only.

For PPC help on Catalyst, Jungle Scout points sellers to a partner: its help center offers a $50 discount on AdSpert, a separate PPC service.
Monitoring and alerts: the gap in both
Neither suite is a good fit for watching listings you already sell, and Catalyst no longer tries. Jungle Scout’s help center says it decided “to sunset our Alerts feature”.

Buy Box tracking still exists at Jungle Scout, but in Cobalt: its platform guide lists Buy Box win rates and unauthorized-seller monitoring under the enterprise product, not Catalyst.
Helium 10 does include Alerts for hijackers, Buy Box and listing changes, but the pricing table limits it to 5 products on Platinum and 200 on Diamond.

Helium 10 Alerts also need a Seller Central connection. Its Alerts setup guide says “you need to connect your Amazon token in Seller Central” before you can activate products.
Seller Central, marketplaces and refunds
Neither tool needs your Seller Central login for research. Jungle Scout confirms there is no need to connect Seller Central for the extension or its research tools. Connecting a Professional seller account unlocks analytics, inventory and review automation.
On marketplaces, Jungle Scout’s pricing FAQ lists full Catalyst support for 8 Amazon stores (US, CA, MX, UK, FR, DE, IT, ES) and partial support for 9 more. Helium 10’s pricing page claims 24+ marketplaces, including Walmart and TikTok Shop, which matters if you sell outside Amazon.
Neither offers a free trial of a paid plan. Jungle Scout offers a 7-day money-back guarantee instead, which you claim through support. Helium 10 has a free plan with limited tools, and its 7-day refund covers first-time subscribers only.
Which is better: Jungle Scout or Helium 10?
It depends on the job you are buying the tool for. Here is our take by buyer type, using the plan limits above.
| You are… | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Researching your first product on a budget | Jungle Scout Starter | $29/mo yearly covers product and keyword research; try Helium 10’s free plan alongside it |
| Validating niches every week | Jungle Scout Growth Accelerator | Unlimited Product Database and Opportunity Finder, 500 tracked keywords |
| Doing heavy reverse-ASIN keyword work | Helium 10 Diamond or Jungle Scout Brand Owner | Platinum caps Cerebro at 100 searches; Brand Owner has unlimited Keyword Scout |
| Running PPC in-house | Helium 10 Diamond | Ads automation included (2% managed-spend fee); Catalyst has analytics only |
| Selling on Walmart or TikTok Shop too | Helium 10 | Jungle Scout covers Amazon only |
| A small team on a budget | Jungle Scout Brand Owner | 3 seats for $129/mo yearly vs 5 users on Diamond for $279 |
| Mainly worried about hijackers and Buy Box losses | Neither on its own | Jungle Scout retired Alerts; Helium 10 watches 5 or 200 products and needs Seller Central |
The third option: when you mainly need monitoring
Some sellers comparing these two are really shopping for protection, not research: they want to know when a hijacker joins a listing or the Buy Box moves. For that job, a research suite is the wrong tool, and SellerSonar is built for it: you add any ASIN on any of 23 Amazon marketplaces, with no Seller Central connection.

When a new seller lands on your listing, SellerSonar raises a Seller appeared alert with the seller, fulfillment type and price. Alerts go to email, Slack or a webhook, and the Buy Box and pricing alerts also cover seller price changes and Buy Box won or lost.

On price, SellerSonar’s plans start at $19.98 a month billed yearly for Pro: 150 ASINs and 500 keywords, checked every four hours. Premium is $39.98 for 300 ASINs and checks every two hours, and Business is $74.98 for 500 ASINs with hourly checks; Buy Box Won and Lost alerts start on Premium.
SellerSonar also tracks organic and sponsored keyword rank daily. It does not do product research, listing creation, PPC management or profit tracking, so if you need Black Box or Opportunity Finder, keep Helium 10 or Jungle Scout for that. We compare it with each suite in SellerSonar vs Helium 10 and SellerSonar vs Jungle Scout.
📌 From Our Experience: The sellers who overpay for software usually bought a suite for one feature. Research and monitoring are different jobs, and the cheapest setup is often one research plan for launches plus a monitoring tool for the live catalog.
Final Expert Recommendations:
Choose Jungle Scout if you are validating products and want the lowest cost per month; choose Helium 10 if you want deeper keyword work, PPC automation on Diamond, or Walmart and TikTok Shop in the same tool. If the problem that brought you here is a hijacker, a lost Buy Box or a changed listing, SellerSonar’s listing monitoring covers that job without a Seller Central connection.
